It's not as if we weren't warned that Chris was going to update the forum to phpBB3 at some point in time.
Today's outage (when it's finished) should resolve lots of the problems we've seen with the forum and the weblogs.
It won't stop Ranger being a twat and posting gibberish ... ah well ... can't have everything.

what pisses me off is all the moaning whilst the poor chappy (chris) is doing his best to get the forum sorted.

Exactly. Chris has had a monster struggle since the forum was hacked at the end of December. There's also a load of moaning about the forum's strange blueness - children and fools should see finished work.
Re: Things that irritate you....
The moaning could have been avoided a bit.
I get annoyed by not being updated about things happening... I need to know! how can I live with such uncertainty! ?

probably true. but not necessarily chris' fault, and at least it is being sorted now, even if a bit overdue.
the blogs are a bit shit. no-one's looked at mine (2 views - probably as soon as i posted it coz it went to the top of the 'recent blogs' list) and no comments either. hope it gets sorted.

I looked, but I can't comment on it (that bit isn't working).
Re: Things that irritate you....
yay - 4 views ! i'm SO popular
never mind - i'm sure it'll all be sorted in good time.
i'm trying to find out how to move avatars etc to the left of the page - i must admit i find it a bit odd over on the right as well. i suspect i should have found that function first as i may not be able to change it now without re-setting the whole bloody lot

Having a flat tyre on the car when I left work, and then spending the evening going to Costco to get two new tyres fitted - so no time for any training today. Ok, so I could be training now rather than playing on the internet...

I just don't understand the rationale behind moving the poster info block over to the right. Just about every popular forum (old phpBB, vBulletin (the best), IPB etc.) and widely-used template has it over on the left, where it makes most sense.
I don't mind change purely on principle, but I do mind change when it's not an improvement on what existed before.

it's the default setting. i've had a look around to try to change it, but i can't find out how to do it yet. i'm sure there IS a way, but i'm reluctant to start twiddling around in case this forum gets buggered up as well! i'm not really familiar with the controls yet and hopefully i'll never need to be - it's really a very temporary solution until the C2 uk forum is fully functioning. i'll keep trying though

Make Daren a temporary Admin - Job done. (He could even change the colour whilst he is there as this one is BAD)

Aye, Jane, I realise it's the new default for phpBB. I was more asking the question of the phpBB maintainers, and whoever designed the new template, rather than yourself or Chris regarding the UK C2 forum.
As for the C2 forum fully functioning, I won't hold my breath. =) In the past day or so, even when it has been accessible, I've encountered mySQL errors.
- Too many connections [1040]
- Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) [2002]

It may be possible now that I'm an admin. But, it's a time thing (having spent too long f**king about with my webserver) to do it.
